Braamfontein is the neighborhood of the Wits University, this area is in deep mutation, art galleries, fashion shop and fancy bars started to take place there.<\/p>\n

Braamfontein<\/a><\/p>\n

For this exploration we were three, Hemisha, Murray, two WITS students and Fran\u00e7ois. This process was free of order and interaction with the other groups. After a common walk we decided to split the group and to purshase alone our explorations according to organise a collective presentation on the next day. The question is \u201chow to manage a collective process in which each participant are able to find their specific space of initiatives\u201d. We tried to stage in a collective approch individual island.<\/p>\n

concept : The idea was to invite people for a beakfast at Nino\u2019s, famous historical bar from where the Nino\u2019s<\/a> saga begun.<\/p>\n

We ordered 3 tables to organise 3 specific presentations of 3 different points of view. The question of points of view is one of the most central in our approch of public spaces, it\u2019s a fondamental on which we build our scenographic position. As Hannah Arendt wrote in The human condition<\/i>, the reality of public space is create by the multiplicity of different individual perspectives. \u00e0 partir du moment ou nous nous sommes Hemisha, Murray et moi s\u00e9par\u00e9s pour continuer chacun de son c\u00f4t\u00e9 la visite de Braamfontein, mon oeil a \u00e9t\u00e9 attir\u00e9 par une s\u00e9rie de signes visuels \u00e9voquant de fa\u00e7on lus ou moins \u00e9loign\u00e9e des liens avec l\u2019histoire du communisme. La s\u00e9rie d\u2019images ci-jointes raconte cette circulation, d\u00e9rive s\u00e9mantique surprenante. C\u2019est \u00e0 partir de ces images con\u00e7ues comme une s\u00e9rie de cartes \u00e0 jouer que c\u2019est organis\u00e9e ma pr\u00e9sentation au caf\u00e9 Nino.<\/p>\n

Les cartes \u00e9taient pos\u00e9es sur la table face cach\u00e9e, invitant les auditeurs \u00e0 les retourner successivement\u00a0 et de fa\u00e7on hasardeuse. Chaque photo ainsi pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e devenait le support d\u2019une narration plus ou moins fictive de mon approche du quartier. Le r\u00e9cit oscillait entre des faits r\u00e9els, comme la rencontre d\u2019un militant du parti communiste sud africain \u00e0 la sortie du congr\u00e8s de l\u2019organisation qui se tenait dans un grand h\u00f4tel du quartier \u00e0 l\u2019interpr\u00e9tation de signes allusifs, vestiges visuels pass\u00e9 dans le champ du commerce et de la communication.<\/p>\n

L\u2019image de la statue de Nelson Mandela \u00e0 Sandton \u00e9tait le joker de ce jeu de cartes, figure \u00e9nigmatique d\u2019un grand \u201ctimonier\u201d en pyjama emprisonn\u00e9 dans un shopping center tel qu\u2019\u00e9voqu\u00e9 par Calin Dan dans son texte sur Sandton<\/a><\/p>\n\n\t\t
