Il fait \u00e9tat du programme de recherche PlayUrban, conduit en septembre 2013 \u00e0 Johannesburg et accueillie par le centre d\u2019art sud africain Vansa et le d\u00e9partement des arts de l\u2019University du Witwatersrand.<\/p>\n<p>1.1<\/p>\n<p>La difficult\u00e9 d\u2019un quelconque rendu du mois de r\u00e9sidence tient \u00e0 la mise en tensions d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements disparates, men\u00e9s collectivement. Ce document constitue la trame d\u2019un ensemble de r\u00e9flexions hasardeuses articul\u00e9es subjectivement. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019un t\u00e9moignage personnel. Chaque personne ayant particip\u00e9 au programme tient sa propre version des faits. Quatre \u00e9v\u00e9nements publics \u00e0 Vansa et une exposition \u00e0 la Chaufferie de Strasbourg, ont jusqu\u2019alors permis d\u2019en d\u00e9voiler, en partie, les aboutissants.<\/p>\n<p>2.0<\/p>\n<p>PlayUrban est un programme de recherche men\u00e9 par des enseignants et \u00e9l\u00e8ves issus de trois \u00e9coles\u00a0: la Haute \u00c9cole des Arts du Rhin de Strasbourg, la <i>Wits School of Arts, University of the Witwatersrand<\/i> de Johannesburg et l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie des Beaux Arts de Kinshasa. Les horizons divers des participants induisent un relief culturel et social ind\u00e9niable. Si d\u2019heureuses rencontres se sont produites, cela a aussi demand\u00e9 un temps d\u2019adaptation de la part de tous les participants, auquel s\u2019ajoute la compr\u00e9hension de l\u2019environnement. En effet, l\u2019assimilation du dispositif \u00e9conomique, social et politique de la ville est un facteur suppl\u00e9mentaire. Ces notions n\u2019ont \u00e9t\u00e9 abord\u00e9e qu\u2019en surface compte tenu du temps impartit. Grace \u00e0 eux, nous r\u00e9alisons la force de l\u2019impacte que constitue notre pr\u00e9sence sur l\u2019\u00e9quilibre de la cit\u00e9e. Elle s\u2019inscrit suite \u00e0 la rencontre avec le collectif de danse Sello Pesa, et est con\u00e7ue avec la participation et la bienveillance de ses membres. <i>Shembe Is The Way<\/i> rend compte d\u2019un parcours emprunt\u00e9 \u00e0 deux reprises par El\u00e9onore Hellio, Eve Chabanon, Marielle Agboton, Janike Fourie, Marie Fricout, Enjay Ndlovu, sur deux jours cons\u00e9cutifs, guid\u00e9 tour \u00e0 tour par Sello Pesa et Brian Mtembu. Le trajet est rythm\u00e9 par la visite de diff\u00e9rents lieux de cultes, dont le March\u00e9 Mai Mai, dernier emplacement commercial de la culture Bantu**, des parcs potentiellement \u00e9glises Shembe*** \u00e0 ciel ouvert, et un centre commercial mosqu\u00e9e. Chaque performeur t\u00e9moigne d\u2019une forme de <i>cin\u00e9plastie,<\/i> d\u2019un rendu fragmentaire \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re de clich\u00e9s cin\u00e9matographiques, une tentative de traduire le d\u00e9paysement urbain v\u00e9cu \u00e0 la fois durant le trajet effectu\u00e9 et face \u00e0 la ville de Johannesburg. En n\u00e9gociant avec l\u2019origine du culte, pour mieux le mettre en crise, en jeu, en perspective, les performeur ont int\u00e9gr\u00e9 une dimension accidentelle aux d\u00e9rives. Les prises de notes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 faites de fa\u00e7on non-lin\u00e9aire, le paysage urbain et ses \u00e9chos th\u00e9oriques mis en sc\u00e8ne sous la forme d\u2019un puzzle. \u00c0 travers une succession d\u2019ambiances, dans un montage singulier li\u00e9 \u00e0 la diversit\u00e9 des d\u00e9cors travers\u00e9s, ils ont \u00e9tabli une cartographie \u00e9motive. Le dispositif performatif d\u00e9joue et rejoue le r\u00e9el, r\u00e9concilie th\u00e9orie et exp\u00e9rience. <i>Shembe is the Way<\/i> r\u00e9interpr\u00e8te la cartographie \u00e9tabli, qui, selon les mots d\u2019E. Wasn\u2019t it relevant for a time of flower pot and whipping. Those struggles are gone! Now what? (Oops, that sounded preachy: a splash of inner conflict should suffice). Why, who, where am I, Art? And what\u2019s with this Baroque-like fascination with the gore of inner conflict? Everyone has it \u2013 so What? When will we stop being mirrors of the disciplines of psychology, philosophy, medicine, science and law; and start becoming artists (painters without a cause!)? Have we finally surrendered to our Kodak master, that we have a need to \u201cbranch out\u201d to other ways of representation: trying to convince ourselves its visual art. Or should we submit to the possibility that our time as fine artists has past. We\u2019ve known this all along; sorry eh, problematizing the idea of the artwork. Yes, the pretty one. Trying to react to our own devaluation, we\u2019ve now played a part in it: while pushing the \u201cboundaries\u201d and ourselves out of the way in the \u201cprocess\u201d. I therefore declare the demise of the * visual art institution. It\u2019s just a hobby, an obscure one. peu au foot. Ce parc est un lieu de culte, c\u2019est le lieu de culte de la Shembe church. Si l\u2019on y va un samedi le parc est encercl\u00e9 de rubans blancs qui d\u00e9limitent l\u2019espace du culte. A l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de celui-ci les gens sont habill\u00e9s en blancs et pieds nus. Les femmes les hommes et les enfants sont s\u00e9par\u00e9s en trois groupes.<\/p>\n<p>Mais pour l\u2019instant, l\u00e0, aujourd\u2019hui nous voyons des adolescents jouer au foot<\/p>\n<p>et l\u2019on nous dit que c\u2019est une \u00e9glise.<\/p>\n<p>Plus loin nous voyons un parc de jeux pour enfant entour\u00e9 d\u2019une grille. Nous tentons d\u2019y rentrer. L\u2019entr\u00e9e a \u00e9t\u00e9 ferm\u00e9e avec un cadenas. Quelqu\u2019un a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 que l\u2019entr\u00e9e \u00e9tait interdite. On regarde ces jeux d\u2019enfants, \u00e0 travers les barreaux, coinc\u00e9s entre 3 bretelles du Highway<\/p>\n<p>et l\u2019on nous dit qu\u2019ici c\u2019est une
